Binary Editor

The Binary Editor is accessible through the View menu or by pressing F5. It shows the values of sixteen bytes from the current file, beginning with the byte at the cursor position in the main window.

Copy these values as text to the clipboard by using Binary Numbers to Clipboard of the Extra Menu.
Use Binary Numbers from Clipboard of the Extra Menu to paste them to the file.

The Binary Editor has four columns:

  • Text
  • Decimal numbers
  • Hexadecimal numbers
  • Binary numbers

The last column is editable. You can enter values from 00000000 to 11111111. Press Enter, Arrow Up or Arrow Down to apply the changes to the file.

Click the Close button or press Esc to close the Binary Editor.

Note: If the cursor position is close to the end of the file, less than sixteen bytes are shown in the Binary Editor.
